Mix flour and baking powder together in a bowl. Rub in the butter with your fingertips until it resembles the texture of breadcrumbs.
Add 1/2 cup of xylitol and egg/applesauce and enough plant-based milk to form a soft dough.
Divide in two. Put one half onto a greased overproof pie plate. Peel, core, and chop up the apples. Add cinnamon and 1/3 cup of xylitol depending on the sweetness of the apples and mix in a small bowl.
Add the apples to the pie plate and roll out the remaining dough and fit to the top.
Press the sides together and brush with apple juice and sprinkle the top with xylitol if desired.
Bake at 350 degrees for 45-60 minutes until the top is nicely browned.
